With Organisations surveyed in Adare’s most recent HR Barometer Series 9.1 reporting they attended the Workplace Relations Commission or Labour Court an average of 6 times in 2024, it is clear that Organisations need to know how to conduct compliant investigations to minimise the risk of Employee claims, reputational damage and financial liability.

With reports of reduced business volumes or cancellation of key contracts, some organisations may have to make the difficult decision of implementing redundancies to adapt to these market changes. Both processes, while sometimes necessary, are fraught with legal complexities and potential risks if not handled with precision and care under Irish employment law.
