Labour Court 2025 Annual Report: Fewer Appeals, but Increasing Complexity

The publication of the Labour Court’s 2025 Annual Report provides a useful overview of developments in workplace disputes and employment rights cases in Ireland. While the Court experienced an 11% reduction in the number of appeals and referrals received during the year, this did not necessarily translate into a lighter workload.

The Court highlighted the increasing complexity of some cases, with certain appeals requiring additional hearing and sitting days. While the figures therefore point to a reduction in the overall number of claims, it does not necessarily mean that employment disputes are becoming less demanding to manage.
